Collaboration with JVMA

Delegates representing Japan Veterinary Medical Association(JVMA) visited Sri Lanka on 16th November for conducting interviews to select few applicants for one year scholarship in Japan. JVMA provides opportunities for veterinarians in Asian countries to obtain experience in Japan through this program and two veterinarians nominated by Sri Lanka Veterinary Association (SLVA) are undergoing the training in Japan at present also. Four short listed applicants faced their interviews at Camelot Beach Hotel, Negombo. Prof. Naoki Miura and Dr. Masato Sakai interviewed the applicants. Dr. Niranjala de Silva (President), Dr. Erandika Gunawardane (President-Elect), Dr. K.G.J.S. Disnaka (Secretary) and Dr. Eranda Rajapaksha (Executive member) participated the event representing SLVA. The SLVA appreciates the support of the JVMA for providing opportunities annually to train veterinarians in Sri Lanka during last many years and expects that the collaboration will continue more strongly in future as well.
